The Food Bank of Northeast Georgia works to address hunger and end food insecurity by serving communities across our region, providing consistent access to nourishing food and relevant education.

We do this by connecting you to the right people, places, and resources you need to thrive here.


We specialize in treating addiction and mental health issues in the same setting, and our fully integrated services are designed to meet the specific needs of each individual. We believe that every person has the ability to change and heal, and we meet patients where they are with an attitude of acceptance and nonjudgment.


Ferst Readers' mission is "strengthening communities by providing quality books and literacy resources for children and their families to use at home during the earliest stages of development." Ferst Readers wants every child to have the best start in life - and nothing helps a baby's brain develop more than exposure to rich language and loving interactions. The key is having books in the home and being read to from birth. Our vision is "to create better learners, brighter futures, and stronger communities by giving every child under five access to quality books in their homes."


Ninth District Opportunity, Inc. is a private Non-Profit corporation founded in 1967 to carry out the mandate of the Economic Opportunity Act of 1964.  NDO's primary purpose is to work in partnership with low-income people, promoting access to opportunities leading toward Self-Development, Self-Reliance, and Self-Determination.


We provide $30 monthly vouchers to purchase essential personal hygiene and household cleaning and paper products- things that cannot be purchased with food stamps.  Currently we issue vouchers to 350 individuals per month.


The Kinship Care Program provides information for Grandparents and Other Relatives raising children.


The Kinship Navigator Program serves as a one-stop shop for information and referral services to grandparents, relatives and other caregivers who are currently raising a child.


The Rabun County Senior Center is located at 2832 Old 441 South in Tiger, GA, and is open Monday - Friday from 8:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Our center offers a variety of activities. We have a quiet room, a game room equipped with 2 pool tables, ping pong table and numerous card or game tables, a computer lab and media room, a craft room, puzzle area, art club, exercise room, swimming pool, a dining room, and a fully equipped kitchen.


In addition to primary care, we also offer pediatrics, behavioral health, diabetes, and nutrition education, women’s health, medication-assisted treatment, general dentistry and pharmacy services. All our centers are fully staffed year-round and offer extended hours. Each community has unique needs, so a center may offer specific services based on identified needs and available resources. The Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program, or LIHEAP, can be applied to at Ninth District Opportunity (NDO). This is focused on eligible households experiencing difficulty paying heating bills. LIHEAP provides a one-time payment that goes directly  to the primary heating vendor. The program is administered on a first come, first served basis.


We have been providing free and confidential services to our community since 1993, speaking with people each and every day who are experiencing, or are affected by abuse. We help men, women, children and families cope with the impact of violence and abuse in their lives by providing safe resources, information, and much needed support.


Free quality dental care for qualified persons.


The Adult Education department is designed for adults who have different needs, backgrounds, and skill levels. We provide a full range of services for adults who need to acquire or improve basic reading, math, and/or written communication skills in order to prepare them to enter and succeed in the workplace or postsecondary educational programs.


The mission of Family Resource Center of Northeast Georgia is to prevent child abuse, nurture children, and strengthen families in Habersham, White, Rabun, Stephens and Banks Counties. We provide a wide range of services in an attempt to keep families together and provide an educational parenting experience.


Our purpose is to defend and enable the the right to Life for the pre-born. Our goal is to counsel and educate our community about the choices and truth of parenting, Adoptions, Sexual Integrity and the negative effects of abortion. We are committed to offer resources as well as free indefinite counseling with love and gentleness. Our belief is based on Christian integrity and is upheld through obedience to and faith in Jesus Christ our Lord.
